Miami City Tour Brickell Avenue is the bay front home of some of Miami's most luxurious high-rise condominiums and considered the heart of Miami’s financial market. The Freedom Tower was constructed in 1924 and in its 76-year history has been home to a newspaper, a refugee processing center, and a squat house for countless homeless people. It is once again undergoing a transformation: this time into a museum of the experience of the Cuban exile community in South Florida. Indulge yourself at Bayside - the best food, fun and shopping Miami has to offer. Whether you are interested in our vibrant marketplace, exotic restaurants, daily live entertainment or national brand name stores. Bayside's wealth of activity offers something for everyone. The Grove - South Florida's first bayside community is located just south of downtown Miami. It's an eclectic village made up of funky cafes, incredible shopping, exciting night life, and great annual festivals and cultural activities. Find everything you are looking for in Coconut Grove. The tour will take your guests to the Barnacle House, Plymouth Church, Admirals Row and the Gables. Coral Gables is known for its beautiful landscaping with lush trees. Your tour will end up at the southern end of the 10-mile-long barrier island of Miami Beach. This is home to the Art Deco National Historic District and is the only location in the United States to be so designated. It is comprised of a few dozen hotels and apartment buildings built primarily in the 1930's. These buildings are soaring examples of pre-war modernism with characteristic rounded corners and geometric ornamentation. The highlight of the district is the strip of hotels along Ocean Drive between 5th and 15th street. |

Coconut Grove and Fairchild Tropical Gardens Your guests will be treated to a tour via a tram of the gardens where they will see a wide array of tropical plants and exotic flowers. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden has assembled an outstanding collection of taxonomically arranged and well-documented tropical plants, emphasizing palms, cycads, flowering trees, vines and fruit trees. Except for certain domesticated plants and critically endangered species, most of these plants are collected from the wild. These collections are now a resource of world significance. After your time at Fairchild, guests will get a guided tour of Coconut Grove. The Grove is a charming walking village with tree lined streets that lead down to one of the world's most beautiful sailing bays. Every great city has a secret heart, a tucked-away treasure. In Miami, the enchanted heart at the center of its tropical soul is called Coconut Grove. |

Villa Vizcaya Museum and Gardens Vizcaya was built by American industrialist James Deering, who wintered on the property from 1916–1925. Today, the extraordinary European-inspired estate includes a house filled with art and furnishings, ten acres of gardens on Biscayne Bay and a hardwood hammock (native forest). Vizcaya was originally a 180-acre estate, designed to resemble a typical self-sufficient Italian villa with a dairy, poultry house, mule stable, greenhouse, and staff residences. The formal gardens were not completed until 1921 because of World War I. During construction, 1,000 workers were employed, representing nearly 10% of Miami's population. Your guests will enjoy a guided tour of the house as a trained docent goes into detail about the history of the mansion. The guests will also be invited to roam the beautiful, lush gardens and courtyard of this beautiful estate. |

South Beach Art Deco While the area is thriving today, the southern region of Miami Beach has a less than perfect history. When the first buildings were completed in the 1920's during prohibition, South Beach soon became associated with liquor and gambling and attracted the likes of Al Capone. By the early 1980's, much of the Art Deco district had become a slum and a center for drug traffic. South Beach experienced an unprecedented revival in the late 80's which some partially attribute to the success of the TV show "Miami Vice." More likely, it was the result of the non-profit Miami Design Preservation League and its founder Barbara Baer Capitman. Today, almost all of the original buildings have been meticulously restored and painted in a colorful array of pastels. Known familiarly as "SoBe" the area is now the chic-est place to be in all of Miami and Miami Beach and has been referred to as "America's Riviera." Upon arrival into the “Art Deco District” your guests will be escorted on a 90-minute walking tour with a local historian. |
